G'day all. Just had my first proper crack at bidding on Coral Coast Auctions last night and honestly reckon their platform is heaps easier than I expected. Won a 2019 Mazda CX-5 for my missus and the whole process was dead simple. Thought it'd be complicated but nah. Anyone else reckon their bidding interface is pretty straightforward or am I just lucky?

Anyone else find the coralcoastauction.com bidding system pretty smooth?

Yeah mate totally agree. I've used coralcoastauction.com four times now and reckon their system is mint. The timer extension when someone bids in the last minute is fair dinkum the best feature—stops all that last-second sniping rubbish you get on other sites.
Congrats on the CX-5! I bought a 2020 Ford Ranger through them in March and yeah the bidding was really clean. Everything updates in real time which is ace. No dramas at all.
The interface is solid imo. I run a small workshop and bought a 2018 Holden Colorado for parts through Coral Coast Auctions couple months back. Bidding was smooth as. Only thing I'd say is their auto-bid feature took me a hot minute to figure out first go but once I sussed it out it's bloody handy.
Oh yeah I saw the auto-bid thing but didn't use it. What's the go with that exactly? Does it just keep bidding for you up to a max you set?
Yeah exactly right. You set your max and it'll automatically outbid anyone up to that amount in the smallest increment. Saves you sitting there refreshing like a galah. Real time saver if you're chasing multiple listings.
I used the auto-bid on a 2017 Nissan Navara last month and gotta say it confused me at first. Like I set my max at $18k but then saw it bidding $16,200 and thought it was broken lol. Took me a bit to realise it only goes up when someone else bids. Would be good if they explained it better on the page but once I got it, no worries.
Fair call DarwinDrift. First time I used auto-bid I had the same confusion. But honestly after you use it once it makes total sense. I reckon they could add a little explainer tooltip or something but it's not a dealbreaker. The system itself runs like clockwork.
I love the notifications too! Got texts when I was outbid and when I won my 2021 Kia Sportage. Made it so easy to keep track without being glued to my laptop. Whole delivery thing was sorted online through coralcoastauction.com and the title came with the car when it was delivered. Zero stress.
I buy for my dealership and the bidding platform is honestly one of the better ones I've used in the industry. Clean layout, no glitches, and the mobile version works a treat too. Won a 2016 Toyota Hilux and a 2020 Subaru Outback in the same week without any hiccups. Title transfer was seamless both times—arrived with delivery as expected.
Yeah DarwinDrift I get what you mean about the auto-bid learning curve. Reckon it's one of those things that seems weird until you've done it once then you're sweet. The way I look at it, any half decent auction site has some quirks but Coral Coast Auctions is way easier than most of the others I've tried.
Jumped on to bid for a project car last week—2015 Ford Falcon XR6. Interface was grouse, no complaints. The countdown timer is really visible which I liked. Ended up missing out by $200 but that's just how auctions go. Will definitely try again.
RedbackRacing that's a bummer but yeah sometimes you just get pipped. I reckon the transparency of the bidding is what makes it fair though. You can see exactly what's happening and when. No dodgy business.
Spot on SandyK. The whole thing feels above board which is bloody important when you're dropping decent coin. I bought a 2018 Mitsubishi Triton through them and honestly the bidding was the easiest part. Had a small question about delivery timing so I emailed office@coralcoastauction.com and they got back to me next day with all the details. Can't fault it.
Good to know about the email support WaggaWheels. Haven't needed to contact them yet but nice to know they're responsive if anything comes up. My CX-5 is being delivered Thursday and I'm stoked. Title and all the paperwork is supposedly coming with it which takes a load off.
You'll be sweet BrisVegas82. When my Sportage got delivered the driver had everything in a folder—rego papers, clear title, the lot. Was actually impressed how organised it was. No chasing anything down after the fact.
I reckon the bidding system is top notch. Only thing I'd change is maybe having a watchlist that emails you when auctions you're watching are about to close but that's just me being picky. Used coralcoastauction.com to buy a 2019 Honda Accord for my daughter and the whole experience from start to finish was mint.
BarossaBloke I think they do have a favourites function but maybe not email alerts? Either way yeah small thing. The core bidding experience is what matters and it works bloody well. I've done three purchases now and never had a single tech issue during bidding which says a lot.
Honestly comparing Coral Coast Auctions to some of the clunky old auction sites out there is night and day. The interface is modern, works on mobile, and you don't get logged out every five minutes. Plus the fact that delivery is sorted and the title comes with the vehicle—mate that's the dream. No stuffing around.
Yeah look I'll admit my gripe about the auto-bid was pretty minor. Used it again last night on a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and now I know how it works it's actually really handy. Didn't win that one either but the system itself is fair dinkum solid. No complaints from me anymore.
Good to hear DarwinDrift. Yeah the auto-bid is a ripper once you get your head around it. Saves heaps of time especially if you're bidding on multiple vehicles like I do. And for anyone worried about the legitimacy side of things—every title I've received has been clean and arrived exactly when they said it would during delivery. No dramas whatsoever.
